In 2011 The Parish Council asked residents for their assistance in creating a Community Action Plan as follows:-
“Over the coming months the Parish Council will be compiling a Community Emergency Action Plan. This will contain useful information in the event of bad weather or a more serious emergency. If you have any technical skills i.e medical, electrical, mechanical etc or would be prepared to help in an emergency i.e driving, making cups of tea, visiting the elderly, shopping , clearing driveways etc. Please can you email the Clerk with your details. The information will be kept in the strictest confidence until the unlikely event of an emergency takes place. We would be grateful for any help, however small.”Nov 2011
In the light of the statement by the Government yesterday in its recommendation of limited social contact due to the fight against the Coronavirus, the Parish Council is activating the plan. In order to update our information and hopefully add new volunteers, please would you kindly email the Clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help in any way, however small, in shopping, collecting prescriptions, dog walking etc to help our elderly community if they are isolated. The Clerk will collate the information and advise if there is a resident who is need of assistance in your location. Please would you also check on your neighbours and if there is a person in need that you become aware of, please let us know as they may not have internet access to see the various fantastic help that is being arranged by our community.
Thank you and stay safe during this worrying time.
